Put Your Makeup In Neutral – How to rock the no make up look!

The ultimate beauty trick when it comes to properly applying and wearing makeup is to look as if you haven’t applied and aren’t wearing makeup. Oh, the irony! Countless beauty bloggers have dedicated well-edited minutes and hours broadcasting step-by-step tutorials on how to contour here and highlight there. However, the hottest make up trend abides by the “less is more” rule, a more subtle, natural makeup result that is as effortless as it looks.

First things first, forget the foundation and start with a neutral color palette.  A neutral palette works for pretty much everyone, as “neutral” has more to do with the pigmentation of your skin than it does with, let’s say your outfit, the season or the latest make up trends. Of course, as we enter the Fall season the tendency is to wear richer, bold colors such as deep reds, burnt oranges, and burgundies, but a blush or taupe eye-cheek-lip combination works just as well. One may even say, that using the same shade on all three areas of the face is more impactful, given that the face’s natural features are the focal point rather than the bold colors that are applied to it.

Smokey neutrals and neutrals with a bit of glitter or shimmer give your evening (or day!) looks a little more depth and interest.  Don’t forget to give your skin a subtle dewy look by dabbing just a few touches of bronzer on your cheekbones, top of the forehead and even chin.  Don’t go too dark on the bronzer for a more natural makeup-free look.

Check out Palladio Beauty’s Crushed Metallic Eyeshadow in “Lightyear” and the shimmery Baked Bronzers which can be used dry, for a natural glow, or wet, for a dramatic radiance that will take you from day to night!
